Nel cuore del continente, Koschei l’Immortale si sta risvegliando. Sebbene sia rimasto incatenato in un lago di montagna per millenni, l’insidiosa minaccia del suo ritorno si sta ora diffondendo attraverso i territori Fae, attirando potenti alleati determinati a riprendersi ciò che un tempo apparteneva a loro: le terre degli umani.
La Corte della Notte non resterà a guardare mentre degli innocenti vengono attaccati. Ma, con Prythian ancora intenta a ricostruirsi dopo la devastante guerra contro Hybern, l’impresa di unire le forze si rivela ogni giorno più difficile.
A peggiorare le cose, coloro che governano e proteggono la Corte della Notte sono sconvolti da recenti tradimenti e verità venute alla luce. Le spaccature che li dividono sembrano insormontabili.
